Beautiful Maternity Pictures

I came across this set of images in my google reader today and was blown away by the beauty.
Sure the fact that Bethany and Sam are quite literally a model couple makes the photographers job a little easier, but I've found maternity shots can be difficult to get just right
These pictures strike the perfect balance for me.
Their beautiful in their simplicity, and are some of the most tasteful maternity pictures I have seen.

I recently finished Brene Brown's new and life shifting book. It's the first book I've completely finished this year, and the fact I did that in record time is both a testament to Brene's work and also how much I had needed the message it contained.

I would like to say the moment I turned the last page over my life was miraculously transformed, but real life doesn't quite work like that, not for me anyway. However the message from the book has sat with me, perculating, bubbling up every so often as a quiet thought, or journal entry.

Brene's book is called the Gifts of Imperfection and throws a loving light on the often deep, frequently hidden deep neroses some of us carry. What I love about Brene's work is, she shines a bright light on matters we often leave in the dark. Yet the light is not harsh or humiliating, but rather it's a warm glow inviting you to step out and see the wonder that is you. The perfectly imperfect form that is me. Her work openly says, "It's ok. Me too," and in doing so, allows us to be the very thing which makes us so unique, yet so similar.

The irony is, just as Brene created this great post on reclaming our power back from the fallacy that is perfection, I delayed (until now :) in posting, because I couldn't think of the "perfect" way to add my voice to chorus. So yeah, still learning to embrace the gift :)

No picture. Just a voice today.
That's ok.
